Warning: Whoever holds this secret key holds everything. Import into Phantom/Solflare via private key — test with a small amount first, never store or share the key digitally.
What does a character cost?
Each prefix character makes the search about 58 times harder (Base58 alphabet). Guide values at typical browser speed:
| Characters | Combinations (approx.) | Duration (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 58 | instant |
| 2 | 3,400 | seconds |
| 3 | 195,000 | minutes |
| 4 | 11M | hours |
| 5 | 656M | days |
That is why a maximum of 5 characters is allowed — beyond that, no laptop joy. Tip: 2–3 characters for fun and recognition, more only with patience. Important: keep the tab in the foreground — browsers throttle background tabs heavily.
Frequently asked questions
Does a desired prefix weaken security?
Practically not: each character costs about 5.9 bits of the 256-bit entropy. Even with 5 characters, over 220 bits remain — far beyond any brute-force reach.
Does anything leave the browser?
No. Randomness, key derivation, and Base58 encoding run locally on your device via JavaScript — no backend, no tracking.
How do I use the found address?
Import the secret key into Phantom or Solflare (private key import) and test with a small amount first. Afterwards: back the key up offline, never share it.
Why only 1–5 characters and only Base58?
Solana addresses are Base58 (no 0, O, I, l — confusion-proof by design). From 6 characters, the search takes days to weeks on normal hardware.
