General information
This website is for informational purposes. Personal data is processed only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website, for communication or to ensure security of operations. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation) and, for contact requests, additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Server log files
When you visit this website, technical information is typically recorded by the hosting provider in so-called server log files (e.g. IP address, date and time, accessed page/file, referrer URL, browser/OS). This data is processed to ensure technical operation and to prevent misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is stored only as long as necessary for these purposes — afterwards it is deleted or anonymized.
Contact
If you contact me by email, the transmitted data (e.g. email address, message content) is processed to handle the request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and deleted after the conversation ends, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
The contact and newsletter forms on this website open your local email program (mailto). Any inputs are passed as part of an email to you/your email client.
External resources & third parties
This website loads external resources to provide design and functionality. This may involve transferring personal data (in particular the IP address) to the respective providers.
Fonts and animation libraries (GSAP) are self-hosted — no third-party CDNs are loaded (no connection to Google Fonts or cdnjs).
The Web3 tool pages likewise load all resources self-hosted (including the QR code library) — no third-party CDNs are loaded and no data is transferred to third parties in the process.
When you click external links (e.g. LinkedIn, GitHub, Best-AI.org, BitAutor), data is transferred to the respective platforms.
Processing in Web3 Tools
No transmission to the operator. The Web3 tools (Wallet Generator, ETH Unit Converter, Address Validator, QR Code Generator, Seed Phrase Validator, Glossary, Checklist and future tools under /tools/) process all inputs exclusively locally in the user's browser (client-side JavaScript). The core tool functionality has no connection to any server operated by the operator or a third party. Seed phrases, private keys, public addresses, amounts, and other inputs never leave the user's device and are not collected, stored, logged, or shared with third parties by the operator.
Legal classification. Since the operator has no access to and does not technically receive this data, no "processing of personal data by the controller" within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 2, Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR takes place with respect to it. The general notes on server log files (see "Server log files" section) still apply independently when the tool pages themselves are loaded (e.g. IP address when the HTML page is requested), but not to values entered within the tools.
Local storage in the browser. The tools do not use localStorage or cookies to store inputs. The ETH Unit Converter and QR Code Generator continuously mirror the currently entered value into the address bar's URL query as a "shareable link" convenience feature (e.g. ?value=…&unit=…, ?text=…); the Address Validator, conversely, only reads a value from the URL query once (?address=…), when such a link is opened. In all cases the URL stays in the user's browser until actively shared — no transmission to the operator occurs. This feature is deliberately not offered for sensitive values (private keys, seed phrases); the Wallet Generator uses no URL parameters at all. Exception: the Self-Custody Checklist stores check-off progress exclusively locally in the browser (localStorage, separated per language) — no transmission to the operator occurs, and progress can be removed at any time via "Reset progress" or by clearing website data.
Service worker / cache storage. This website uses a service worker that stores website files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts) in your browser's cache storage to shorten load times and keep the site available on poor connections. Only technical website files are cached there — no inputs, no keys, no personal content. You can remove the cache at any time via your browser settings ("clear website data").
Clipboard. Copying results (via a "Copy" button) uses the device's native clipboard API; copied content stays on the device until overwritten or read by another application. The operator has no access to it.
User responsibility. Users are responsible for the secure storage of seed phrases and private keys, for recognizing phishing sites (in particular imitations of this domain), and for using the tools in a trustworthy, malware-free environment. Your rights
Within the scope of applicable laws, you have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15, 16, 17, 18, 20 GDPR) and the right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) — the competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, lfd.niedersachsen.de.
